Inserts for Plastics

The application of plastics to engineering design continues to increase. For the majority of engineering assemblies, provisions must be made to allow for dismantling for adjustment, servicing, or repair. This usually means that a mechanical fastening system is essential.

Inserts for plastics essentially function as nuts and bolts designed specifically for plastics. Upon installation, they become a permanent part of the mating assembly. And while loose hardware requires access to both sides of the mating assembly, an insert only requires single-side access.

When selecting an insert, the prime consideration will be the type of plastic that is used, as well as the installation method at the point of assembly. We offer a complete range of inserts for both post-mold installation as well as over-mold installation, and for installation into both thermoplastics as well as thermoset plastics. In addition to standard designs, we can provide modified standard parts as well as specials.
